Ignore the dork in the speedos….we had no choice! My mother dressed him back then! He’s since entered therapy. Just kidding. That’s my brother in the middle, my sister holding the ice cream (and NOT in speedos!) and on the other side is me holding the camera. Mom is in the background and Dad was taking the picture. I was 10 years old here I am guessing and we were vacationing in the Bahamas. Ever since I can remember, I always loved to “people watch” and for my 8th birthday I got a GAF 110 Camera. I took that thing EVERYWHERE. I feel pretty darn lucky to do what I love and looking back at this photo reminds on how much I love what I do having a camera by my side and how long I loved photography.
Whether I see you right in front of me, around me or I catch a reflection…moments move me. When I see a moment…., “Click!” Moment captured and mission accomplished!

My name is Marcy Vanegas and I am a Wedding Photographer. Sounds typical, right? Well, my love for weddings is certainly not typical. To say that I love weddings is an under statement. I literally wake up the morning of a wedding EXCITED! I wonder what memory will I document that I will be proud of that day or what moment will unfold right before my eyes. Sounds a little corny, right? I take my job on your special day very seriously! I not only keep you both in mind as well as your families, but I imagine your grandchildren looking through your photos. I want them to view your photos and be taking back in time to that very day. I want them to see the moments and laugh and cry. That's how precious your moments are to me! I love what I do and I love documenting moments. I consider it an honor when I am chosen to be a family's Wedding Photographer. Just know that when you select me!
Well to know a little about me, you have to know a little about my family. Family is important to me. The older one gets, the more you realize that your family is precious.
I have four boys. Yup, they are all mine! They are all out of the house and off on their own (for the most part!). I am proud of each and every one of them. They seem to think individually that they are my favorite. At least that’s how they sign their Mother’s Cards every year…Love Your Favorite Son… lol.
As my parents are getting older, we try to get together more often. Time with them is precious. This was 2 or 3 years ago for my Dad’s birthday. Not everyone showed, but most of us did. We rented a studio for the evening, ordered some pizzas and took pictures. At the end, we got the cake out and sung, “Happy Birthday” to my Dad. It was fun!
And to all who are curious out there…the guy in front of the balloons and purple checked shirt…yup, that’s speedo boy (sorry, Jorge).

I live in a city called Deerfield Beach and serve the South Florida Area. Deerfield Beach is in Broward County, but ironically though my work is mainly in Miami and the Palm Beach areas….weird huh? It’s nice though that I am centrally located for my families.
Though I serve in the South Florida Area, I DO TRAVEL as well. In fact, I travel more that I care to admit for work. I’ve photographed weddings all over the United States ….Ohio, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Georgia, Texas and Oregon. I recently did my FIRST European Wedding in Italy. That was a blast and I hope to do more!
So in short, if you are planning a destination wedding…I’m GAME!
